ESTADOS UNIDOS POR PRIMERA VEZ.
El documental “Patria y
Vida”, una historia que cambió Cuba a través
de la música, finalmente llegará a la pantalla grande, se
presentará al público en los cines en Miami a partir del 11
de Julio. Dirigida
por la multipremiada artista y compositora Beatriz
Luengo, protagonizada por Yotuel, cuenta
con la participación de destacadas figuras de la música
como Emilio y Gloria Estefan, Camila Cabello,
Gente de Zona, Leila Cobo entre otras
figuras.
La película que relata la
historia detrás de la canción “Patria y Vida” que
se convirtió en lucha por la libertad del pueblo cubano
llega a la pantalla grande en Estados Unidos tras su
exitoso paso por España. Dirigida por la multipremiada
artista y compositora Beatriz Luengo, protagonizada
por Yotuel, cuenta con la

entre otras llega a los cines de Miami bajo la

“Patria y Vida” no

La historia sigue a figuras clave
como Maykel Osorbo, actualmente
preso en una cárcel de máxima seguridad en Cuba, y Yotuel, líder
del grupo Orishas, quien vive en exilio forzado. También
muestra los riesgos asumidos por Gente de
Zona, que tras el lanzamiento del tema
fueron advertidos por el FBI sobre una posible orden de
secuestro. El documental retrata con crudeza y belleza
el poder transformador del arte independiente y su
capacidad para despertar la conciencia colectiva.

Academia de los Latin Grammy con
dos estatuillas: "Canción del Año" y "Mejor
Canción Urbana". Y los compositores han
pasado a ser parte del prestigioso Salón de la fama.

“La Cuba del futuro pertenece a Patria y Vida” (The
Washington Post), “El sonido de la libertad” (The
Wall Street Journal) son algunos de los
titulares que la prensa internacional dedica al
movimiento. El expresidente Barack Obama reconoció
la obra como una de sus favoritas del 2021.
El presidente de Estados Unidos entregó
personalmente a Beatriz Luengo y
el elenco el certificado oficial que incluye la canción en
el Libro del Congreso de los Estados Unidos, garantizando

ACERCA DE BEATRIZ LUENGO
Beatriz Luengo es una de las cantautoras
hispanas más relevantes de la industria. Comenzó su
carrera en Madrid, sobre las tablas del teatro Lope de
Vega a los 15 años y formó parte del elenco de las series
“Policias”, “Periodistas” y “El Comisario” hasta que llegó
su salto internacional con el personaje principal de la
serie “Un paso Adelante”. Ha sido ganadora de dos Latin
Grammys en las categorías Cancion del año y Mejor canción
urbana en el 2021. También tiene un Grammy Americano por
su trabajo como compositora en el álbum de Ricky Martin
̈”A quién quiera escuchar”.
La Unión Europea la ha reconocido con el
prestigioso premio European Border Breaker Award por el
impacto de su carrera en Europa. Y es una de las pocas
compositoras latinas que tienen el privilegio de ser parte
del Hall of Fame Museum de Los Ángeles.
En el 2023 ha presentado su primer trabajo
como directora de cine con el documental “Patria y Vida”,

partly to protect ourselves. Writing a song out of love
and social justice, only to end up threatened by a
government, was surreal. Patria y Vida changed our lives—between
dreams and nightmares.”

About Beatriz Luengo
Beatriz Luengo is one of the most prominent
Hispanic singer-songwriters in the industry. She began her
career at age 15 on stage at the Lope de Vega Theater in
Madrid and appeared in TV series such as Policías,
Periodistas, and El Comisario, before achieving
international fame with the lead role in the series Un
